What is Empire of Sports?
Empire of Sports is an upcoming multi-sport MMO game. It will feature unique role playing elements as well as sports, but it cannot be easily compared to other MMORPGs or sports games. Read more about the game.
What's the benefit of having multiple sports disciplines?
Firstly, you get multiple sports games in a single game! But beyond that we will be combining the various sports disciplines to create a true and unique sporting environment. For example, training a specific muscle group in the gym will give you benefits in all the sports involving that muscle group. Stay tuned, because we will soon be releasing some more information on avatar development.
What sports will be in Empire of Sports?
For the moment, tennis, basketball, bobsleigh, skiing and a series of training/fitness games will be available at launch, with football being the first sport to be added soon after lauch. We are currently developing additional single and team sports. Keep checking the website to learn more about which sports will be available on Empire of Sports as we will be announcing regular updates in the Blog or see the latest Screenshots section to see how the game is looking.
You have team sports! How will that work?
As a player, you will always control a single character, your avatar. To play the team sports you will, obviously, need a team, but just as important are tactics and organization! We tried it, and it is a fantastic experience to team up and work together with other real people. So, meet up with your friends and challenge another team to a match!
Does that mean there will be no AI?
There is an AI capable of playing with or against you, but we are keeping it very basic. The main purpose of Empire of Sports is to bring people together and have as much fun as possible. Real competition cannot be beaten!
Can I start my own team and club?
Yes and much more. We can't be more precise at the moment, but the community features will provide the possibility to the users to create a complete sporting community for themselves. Please remember not all features will be present at release.
So are there just friendly games against my friends or are there tournaments and competitions?
There will be tournaments and competitions that the players can take part in. We want to make sure that there is always a thrilling event or competition going on, but there is even more to be announced in the future.
What platforms does the game get released for?
The game is currently being developed exclusively for the PC. This decision is primarily based on the large availability of PCs to both gamers and non-gamers, but also the network capabilities which we use to minimize disturbing lags. Furthermore, the PC allows us to come up with something revolutionary in controls that we will be telling you about soon!
What system requirements will Empire of Sports have?
You will not need the latest of the latest hardware to run the game but full details will be published soon. In principle, we want the game to be available to as many people as possible, allowing the community to be as large and diverse as possible.
What languages will Empire of Sports be released in?
The unique nature of the platform allows all players to play on the same servers. At launch, the game interface however will be fully localized in English, French and German.
What age group is the game aimed at?
Everyone will be able to enjoy Empire of Sports! We have always taken great care to keep the game clean and are counting on a 3+ PEGI rating.
When does the game release?
The release is planned for the end of 2008. We are currently in the Private Launch phase.
How can I sign up for the Private Launch?
During this period, 15,000 VIPs (Very Important Players) will have access to the game and its sport facilities.
